Life With Strawberry

Once upon a time, there lived a family with two kids named Arie and Mia. Arie was a cat expert and spent most of her time reading about cats on a website made for cat lovers while Mia was very young. She read many books about cats and was very lucky to have a friend with a pet cat who had babies. Her friend told her that she could get a cat from her. Mia and her family talked together about the topic. She told them about her wishes of getting a baby cat from her friend. Her parents told her that a cat was the most perfect pet for this family. So, Mia got the cat from her friend.

When she returned home, she put the cat on the table. Arie and Mia were at home. It was lunchtime. Mia’s fruit salad contained her favorite fruit: strawberries. She finished eating her lunch and got off her chair, screaming in a jumpy mood. She was in such a hurry for the name announcement. She named her new cat Strawberry. Strawberry was her only companion. They spent most of their time together, from waking each other up to studying together.

At first, Strawberry was calm and quite, never scratching Mia or acting aggressively towards her owners. She just sat on the chair or on Mia’s. Strawberry sometimes reminded Mia of her study by pulling her pants, kindly trying to say, “Mia, Mia, you have study.”

Whether it was by knocking on the door or pulling her pants, Mia didn’t listen to any of her reminders. As a friend of a cat lover, Mia was used to the pulling, screaming, and reminding of little kittens.

After a year with Arie and Mia, Strawberry started acting more wildly and aggressively. During the monthly nail clipping, she scratched Arie, Mia, and their mother’s clothes, completing it with the wild behavior of jumping on all the sofas, turning the tables upside-down, breaking the dishes, and spilling the liquids in the house, causing the house to become chaotic and messy with a cat still spilling and breaking even more things. Arie stood in the middle of the chaos, calmly combing her dirty hair.

“You have no feeling Arie, we’re in the middle our problem and you’re just standing here and combing your hair,” said Mia.

“I know that every problem has a solution,” Arie replied.

“Oh Arie, you’re right,” Mia said, watching Arie catch Strawberry and put her inside her travel cage.

“Actually,” Arie said, “cats are bad. I’m never ever going to get a pet cat.”

“You’re right Arie, cats are horrible,” Mia replied, laughing.

“Well then, what can we do with Strawberry?” asked Arie.

“I know a woman who wants to adopt a pet cat. She is old and lives alone at home. So, Strawberry will bring joy to this woman,” said their mom.

The girls laughed. The next day, they visited the old woman and took the cat with them.

“Hi Arie! Hi Mia! How are you?” the old woman asked.

“We’re fine,” replied Mia, “but look. We’ve got a pet cat. Her name is Strawberry. Do you want to adopt her?”

“Yes,” cried the old woman, “I’ve been looking for a cat to adopt. Thank you very much girls, thank you! I don’t know how much to thank you for this cute cat.”

“Bye and have a nice day with Strawberry!” said Mia, getting ready for swinging on the swings.

“Aren’t we going to spend some more time in here?” asked the mom.

“Yes, I love this place,” replied Arie.

“Don’t you like Ms. Berkinns?” asked Mia.

“Yeah. We should also wait for Bella and Mandy.”

“Yes, then, we’ll go to the playground with our mother and Mandy and Bella’s mother.”

“Mandy and Bella? They’re my granddaughters,” replied the old woman, “I must wait with you. I’ve spent about two years without seeing their mother. Last time I saw her was when she was sick. I don’t know what happened to her, but I heard that she traveled away. So, I couldn’t see her. I must get her phone number.”

“Really? I’ll tell her,” replied Mia, “now, we must go, they’re here.”

“Come,” said their mother.

The old woman greeted Bella and Mandy, spoke to their mother, and got her phone number. Then, Arie, Mia, and their mother went to the playground with Mandy, Bella, and their mother. They cherished their time at the playground and even their mothers bought them some ice cream. The day at the playground was unforgettable.
